NYC warns public against name-dropping solicitors

The National Youth Commission warns the public against unscrupulous individuals or groups who are deceiving people by soliciting money using the name and the official logo of the NYC. A group of individuals claiming to be affiliated with the NYC has been asking for donations for a supposed youth summit. Reports have reached the NYC about these incidents around Jollibee and Sweet Inspirations in Katipunan, Quezon City, the University Belt Area, Harrison Plaza and Isetann Recto in Manila, and in some establishments in Makati City.

The NYC reminds the public that the agency has not authorized any individual or group to solicit or collect donations and advises everyone to report any incident of such encounter by calling the following numbers: (02) 4163415 or 4110384 or notifying the Commission through e-mail at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. I would suggest that you have to inform first your personnel about this matter. It's frustrating that when I called a week ago, it seems that the one who answered didnt know what I was talking about.
